These frozen banana bites have enough sweetness to still feel like a dessert, but are healthy enough to not make eating them a regrettable decision and a much better alternative to something like ice cream. At first, they may seem like a hassle when you’re trying to make them, but once you get a hang of it they’re definitely worth it. They only take a few ingredients, and most are staple household foods.
2 cups of melted semi-sweet chocolate
Spoonful of coconut oil
Putting It All Together
Melt the two cups of chocolate in the microwave until completely smooth, while taking them out every thirty seconds or so to stir. Mix in the coconut oil, which insures that the chocolate will coat the bananas well.
While the chocolate is melting, cut the bananas into ½ inch slices and then chop the peanuts into small pieces. Next, put the peanuts and sprinkles into their own bowls.
Using a fork, dip a banana slice into the chocolate, coating it completely, and then place it into the sprinkles or peanuts and coat the slice completely, or wait and put sea salt on it at the end. Then transfer the banana onto a parchment lined pan, spacing them all evenly apart. Repeat this process until all the bananas have toppings and are ready to be frozen.
Place the pan in your freezer and let them freeze overnight before eating.
*When you take them out to eat, don’t wait too long for them to unthaw or else they become very mushy.
