On September 10th, a well known conservative political figure named Charlie Kirk was shot at Utah Valley University. Kirk was a 31 year old man, and just started his tour called the “American Comeback Tour“, with Utah Valley University being the first stop. Kirk is mostly known for his debates with college students, some becoming extremely viral videos that many have seen. When Kirk was shot, his wife, Erika Lane and his two kids were in the crowd.
As of this moment, Kirk’s murder suspect has been turned in: Tyler Robinson. He is now in custody. Robinson was turned in by his family, specifically his father. During the attack against Kirk, there were roughly 3000 people in the audience, in a tight crowd, all there to watch his debate. President Trump had officially stated about the suspect that “I think with a high degree of certainty we have him in custody,” and Trump has stated he also is hoping for a quick trial. Robinson is roughly 22 years old, and was living in Utah at the time of the incident. The FBI offered a reward all the way up to 100k to turn in Kirk’s murderer.
It is now known that authorities retrieved a “High powered, bolt action rifle” that was used in the shooting in a nearby wooded area. FBI Director, Kash Patel is in charge of Kirk’s case, putting in a plentiful amount of energy, working “Day and night” on this recent case. Kirk also was running a big nonprofit organization, the non profits mission is to educate children, and encourage political discourse. As of this moment, Erika Lane, Kirk’s wife stated that she hopes to continue the non-profit Kirk started, despite his death.
