Varsity Football Looks For Win After Bye Week

Ernesto Bowen, Sports Reporter

Varsity football went into last week’s bye week with mean intentions:

they look to advance to 9-1 Friday night.

“We came into the bye week focused, motivated, and doing what “we had to do to get better, and also to clean up some mistakes we made in the past,” Josh Saratt (‘19) said.

The Eagles even took a practice on Friday, which is very rare for any team on a bye week.

“Well, what else are we going to do? We have no game, we might as well get better,” Saratt said. “We really need to take this week serious to clutch conference champions and take the number 1 seed for playoffs.”

The coaches have been putting the players to work. The key’s to the rest of the season are being physical and fast, and focusing on the offensive line  going into the playoffs.

This bye will not knock them off their game. Quarterback Ethan Garwood (‘18) and the Eagles will play Friday night at Freedom High School at 6:00.
