Cullen Monahan, a 2014 Colonial Forge graduate, broke the Christopher Newport Track and Field program record in the 800 meters on the first day of the 2018 NCAA Division 3 Indoor Track and Field Championships, clocking in with an official time of 1:52.56.

With the time, Cullen qualified for the 800m finals last Saturday where he went on to finish third with a time of 1:52.67.

Cullen, now a Junior at CNU, was a four sport talent during his time as an Eagle, playing golf and swimming to go with participating in cross country and track where he was a three-time state qualifying runner.

Congratulations to Cullen for his record setting performance and we wish him luck as he enters the outdoor season.
