Soccer Teams Play in OT Thrillers vs North

Patrick Strong, Editor

Both Varsity Soccer teams played in thrilling overtime games Tuesday night against North Stafford, with the Girls game ending in a 0-0 draw, and the Boys game ending in a 2-1 double OT victory for the Eagles.

The Girls game was a slug fest throughout as Forge entered AJ Slye Stadium with a chip on their shoulder following a tight loss to Mountain View last Friday. The Eagles went toe to toe with the Wolverines throughout, but in the end neither team was ever able to break through and the game concluded scoreless.

As for the Boys, who were hosting the Wolverines, they managed a miraculous comeback to get the win. Jadon Redding was the savior for the Eagles on the night as he scored once near the end of regulation to send it to overtime, and scored once again in double overtime to seal the second consecutive win for the Boys.

Both teams will be back in action on Friday with the Girls hosting Riverbend and the Boys visiting the Bears. Games start at 7:00 p.m.
