Walking into Mellow Mushroom is like getting hit by a wall of commotion. The restaurant is average-sized, yet tight-spaced, because of the crowd of people always trying to get in. There are many places to sit with tables in the middle of the restaurant, booths on the sides and edges of the restaurant, and a bar where they have many options for drinks. In the restaurant, there are tons of employees ready to immediately serve you who are always super quick and kind. It’s always been a place where you can go with your friends to hang out after a walk around Downtown Fredericksburg. 

The menu has a wide variety of food choices starting with the Munchies or appetizers at the top, including its famous Pretzel Bites. Their Pretzel Bites are tons of mini pretzels that fill the plate with a mountain of scorching hot cheese dip that will make your taste buds melt. My personal favorite is the Spinach Artichoke Dip, I personally don’t even like spinach but this dip is perfection. Starting it off, you get some toasted crunchy bread slices and a big bowl of cheesy dip with spinach. It’s the perfect balance of spinach, cheese, and crunchy bread. 

Now onto the pizzas. Personally my favorite pizza to get is from the Build-Your-Own section where I get a bacon and ham pizza. The ingredients are just top-notch amazing as they aren’t just plain old bacon, their bacon is sweet and syrupy. I normally don’t eat my pizza’s crust but at Mellow I always do because it has the perfect amount of crunch. The way the pizza was presented on their website you’re always going to think it’s fake, but it actually looked exactly like their food in person which I appreciated in the end.
