On April 13th Colonial Forge announced its new head coach, Earl Moore. Moore spent the last 8 seasons as the defensive coordinator at Norcross High School in Georgia, where he won two regional titles and one state semifinal appearance.
The personal touch from the administration had Moore convinced that it was the right place for him and the next chapter in his career.
“Having the opportunity to sit and speak with Mr. Daniel, having dinner and talking about all things Forge with Mr. Berry, and ending it with a great conversation with Ms. Hampton was definitely a part of the reason I wanted to be at Forge,” Moore said.
Moore met with some of the players wanting to get to know them as individuals rather than just another name on the roster.
“I realized I wanted to be an Eagle when I met some of the current football players. They had great personalities, they were engaged in our conversation, and they made me feel like I was home,” Moore Said.
The players who met with Moore during the interview process felt a connection immediately, noticing that he had an interest in their lives more than their football skills.
“When we first sat down with Coach Moore, it didn’t feel like a formal interview. It felt like he actually wanted to get to know us. He asked about our goals and what we wanted the culture of the team to look like. It makes you want to play harder when you know your coach has your back like that,” Mason Cachola (‘28) said.
One thing is for sure: Colonial Forge Football is on the right path to win. Moore has proven to do that and will continue the winning culture that Colonial Forge has.
